Trainee Plant Operator

Applications are currently invited for the position of Trainee Plant Operator – (2 Year Traineeship).

Temporary full time, 38 hrs/wk.  Operating as a member of the Technical Services team, the trainee will obtain the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain Council’s heavy plant including Excavator, Front End Loader, Backhoe, Truck etc. in line with Council’s works program. Salary will be determined by level of education completed and previous work experience.  Range T4 $701.49 – T8 $946.60.

Casual Labourers

As part of the Federal Government Drought Funding, Gwydir Shire Council would like to invite those affected by the drought to apply for a number of casual labouring positions.

This is a perfect opportunity to join the Council’s diverse, multi-skilled workforce and assist with the delivery of various community works projects. As a casual labourer, you will be an energetic, motivated person who enjoys manual duties. All labouring positions involve multi-skilling and the interchange of duties when and where required.
